Four questions, one app

What's my dog…

Every dog owner has asked at least one of these. Now your phone has a go at answering them.

What's my dog…breed?

Take a photo or pick one from your library. People and dogs both work.

  • Dogs are read by the breed recognition built into your iPhone. Not sure between a few? You get a mix.
  • Faces are matched on expression and setting, never on looks. A big grin outdoors gets a very different twin from a thoughtful indoor stare.
  • Several faces or dogs in one picture? Tap the one you want.

What's my dog…thinking?

Point the camera at your dog and a thought bubble pops up, live. It changes when the posture does.

  • Ears, tail and stance read from 25 body points.
  • A wagging tail, pricked ears, a nose to the ground: each gets its own thought.
  • Got a video? Drag along it and the bubble follows.

What's my dog…saying?

Hold to listen when your dog gets chatty, or choose a video.

  • Barking, howling, growling or whimpering, how many barks, and how loud.
  • A fun line about the noise, with a real fact about dog sounds beside it.

What's my dog…been doing?

Every twin, thought and bark lands in a diary by itself, day by day. Add your own photos and notes too.

  • This week against last: more barks or fewer, the mood mix, the breeds you've collected.
  • Got more than one dog? Say who each note is about.
  • Share any day as a card.

Questions

Good questions, good dogs

Is my dog twin scientifically accurate?

No, and it doesn't pretend to be. What's My Dog? is made for fun. Dogs are matched by the breed recognition built into iOS, which is good at the breeds it knows. People are matched on expression and setting, so the same person can get a different twin on a different day. It is not a DNA test, and it is not a vet or a behaviourist.

Does it judge how I look?

No. Faces are read for expression and setting only, such as a smile or being outdoors. The app does not identify anyone and does not score appearance.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

Never. Everything runs on your iPhone, and the app has no server. A card leaves your phone only when you share it. See the privacy policy.

Which iPhones does it work on?

Any iPhone that runs iOS 18 or later. It works on iPad too.

Do I need a dog?

Not for your dog twin. Point it at yourself, your friends or a dog you meet. Thinking, Bark and the diary are made for your own dog.

How do I cancel Pro?
